Case study - Marriott, Comcast
Rebuilding asset management without missing a beat

The Challenge
Marriott’s "Transcendent Maintenance" platform is a critical asset management tool used by facility managers worldwide. However, the existing application suffered from an outdated architecture that hindered the addition of new features and functionalities. Marriott’s internal team lacked the specific knowledge and resources to overhaul the system while maintaining continuous global operations.
Engineering & Craftsmanship
Baseflow led a comprehensive architectural transformation, working as an extension of the Marriott team. Our intervention included:
We implemented a sound architecture using Xamarin Forms and MvvmCross, carefully separating the data, business, and UI layers to ensure long-term maintainability.
Developed a high-performance scanner functionality that allows users to instantly log assets and maintenance items via their mobile devices.
Beyond code, we coached and led Marriott’s native app teams, moving them into a highly predictable and effective agile environment.
We supported the product team in refining their long-term vision and development priorities.

Business result
The re-engineered platform has set a new standard for facility management software:
The architectural shift and process improvements extensively increased the predictability and quality of the team's output.
The implementation of MvvmCross resulted in superior communication between the frontend and backend systems.
Marriott now has a modern, decoupled maintenance platform that can easily scale and integrate new features as needed.
Summary
The project evolved from a standard development engagement into a "true partnership." Through extensive knowledge exchange, Baseflow helped lift the Transcendent Maintenance app to a higher level of technical excellence.
